I put together this little game day, Super Bowl Party Ideas post to give all of you who join me in rejoicing in the privilege of eating gobs of dips and bites of yum all day long on the upcoming day where boys throw around a brown, oblong ball. No offense intended there if football is your thang, just stating things from this blissfully ignorant point of view. 🙂
So, let’s get on with the eating ideas. Happy Potato Skin Pigskin Day!!
You want dips? We are dip nuts at our house. We have plenty to choose from in our Recipe Index, but a couple easy favorites of ours are Bacon Ranch Jalapeño Popper Dip,
Four Cheese Spinach Artichoke Dip, a classic, everyone-friendly dip that you can make in a bread bowl for extra dipping pleasure,
and possibly our all-time-fave, Pickle Dip. With or without ham, your potato chips have never tasted this good!
Superior Smoked Whitefish Dip is a crowd-pleasing dip packed with lemon, dill, garlic, and the star of the show: flaky, smoked whitefish.
How about these gorgeous Gorgonzola Bacon Crostinis?! These add some class and roll-your-eyes-back-in-your-head goodness to the whole day!
Maple Bacon Bites need to be at the top of your list for sure! Caramelized maple syrup + bacon = food they’ll never forget. Good luck sharing, though. Not even kidding. This stuff is dangerously good!
Cheeseburger Muffins can be made into minis (or not), and go a long way to serving many very happy campers. Full of your favorite cheeseburger-y flavors, these will be a crowd-pleaser for sure.
How about these little sweet and savory perfect bites? I mean, how can you beat bacon wrapped little smokies drizzled in a maple/mustard glaze?
Of course, you can always make a pan of THE Mac and Cheese and earn yourself hero status.
They might set the remote down and turn away for a sec if they get a load of these guys…Jalapeño Popper Stuffed Pretzels are unique and beyond amazing and easier than you might think.
How about my newest favorite appetizer recipe that makes tiny little bites of your favorite customizable cheeseburger flavors with my Cheeseburger Meatballs? Each bite is such a delicious, easy to eat savory treat stuffed with cheese and decorated with all things cheeseburger.
Too much cheese and heavy stuff? Let’s make this thing healthy. How about Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips?
Or add this herby dip to the mix and freshen everything up with some dippable veggies. Dill Veggie Dip is packed with flavor and whips up in just a couple minutes.
Pop this meat in the crock pot and serve it with some yummy bread and you have a crowd-pleaser like no other. Pepperoncini Beef hasn’t failed me yet.
Forego the chili and make a big, ol’ pot of our fan-favorite soup. Cheeseburger Soup is packed full of cheese and beefy goodness — everyone loves this stuff!
Or, perhaps you do want chili! Need a great recipe for Cheesy White Chili that can be made in the crock pot? This one is thick and rich and full of cheese and chicken — and super easy.
Speaking of dill pickles, how about over-the-top-amazing Cream Cheese Stuffed Fried Pickles? Drool…
Southwestern Egg Rolls with Bacon are a finger food packed with chicken, bacon, beans, and spices and make an easy-to-grab showstopper. Fun to eat and fun to serve!
Dessert? Got ya covered!
These Fried Ice Cream Nachos, give you all the yummy flavor of fried ice cream on one big easy platter that you can customize to whatever size crowd you’re serving!
These decadent Caramel Oat Bars serve a crowd and are the perfect blend of chewy oats and rich caramel in an easy to make crowd-pleaser.
When you bring these guys, everyone will be asking, “Who the heck made THOSE Cookie Bars?” Chocolate chip cookie dough with a layer of caramel and a touch of peanut butter make these bars more than a little special.
Or make a sundae bar with all the toppings and bring a jar of the most amazing, warm, chocolatey hot fudge you’ve ever had in your life. Even if their team loses, they will leave happy after having eaten this stuff.
I hope you enjoy your day of tight ends and first downs and blah, blah, blah EATING as much as we inevitably will at our house. Because, it really is all about the food, isn’t it?

Allison, how long do you leave the poppers in the soda water? These look absolutely delicious! I can’t waith to make them 🙂
Hi, Monica!! I’m so happy you’re trying them! You’re gonna love them, I can pretty much guarantee! :o)
You have a very good question, and there is no specific answer. They just sit in the water for a couple minutes. It’s just to make sure they are good and wet, not for any other purpose so don’t worry about it too much. If you love them, please share the recipe for us! Happy football day!
Bless you, Sister.
But, of course!
