The next big holiday meal is hiding behind just a couple little corners! Are we ready? Our family’s tradition for Easter is to break tradition. We started years ago eating corn dogs on a train somewhere in North Carolina, and ever since we find fun ways to avoid the usual. We’ve had several Japanese Steakhouse Easters, and Mexican restaurants and Greek, and last year we ordered in from our favorite BBQ joint from Texas and had at least the meat delivered. Oh, yeah.
But, if you’re a little more traditional, I’m more than happy to share some Easter dinner ideas with you — favorite food ideas from our table to yours.
Happy Easter, friends!
Let’s start with breakfast. This Cheesy Sausage Breakfast Braid is perfect because you can make it ahead and bake it in the morning and have a sumptuous and beautiful breakfast. Add some fresh fruit and you’ve already won the day. Definitely a refreshing change from the traditional breakfast casserole!
Or you can do a beautiful Breakfast Charcuterie…
How about these gorgeous crostinis for an appetizer? I promise they’re even yummier than they are beautiful! Bacon and Blue Cheese Crostinis, Cherry Almond Crostinis, Roasted Tomato Caprese Crostinis…
And then there’s the star of the show — the meat.
If we choose tradition this year, we will be having Best Ham Ever! because this is our family’s favorite every single time. Two ingredients, friends. Yes, you read that right.
You’ll need potatoes! Wedding Potatoes are where the love is.
How about Change Your Life Potatoes? The title says it all — filled with bacon, cream cheese, butter and Cheddar you will be thanking me this Easter and every Easter forever. :o) And you can make them ahead so that is a HUGE win!!
Of course, THE Mac and Cheese is a winner and will make you the star of the show.
Pretty fresh side, anyone? These Herbed Cream Cheese Tulip Bouquets are as yummy as they are gorgeous!
This Green Pea Salad with Bacon and Feta is the essence of Spring in a bowl of yum!
Rolls or Bread. You have options. These Buttery Dinner Rolls cannot be beat.
Except maybe with Soft, Oat Dinner Rolls. With a hint of molasses, these rolls might take the cake…
Or maybe with Cheese Bread. Knock their socks off with this loveliness.
Sides? Roasted veggies of any kind are my favorite. On my post about Cheddar Cheese Soup with Roasted Cauliflower, I tell my secret weapon for the best roasted cauliflower you’ve ever had.
Or there’s always Dreamy Creamed Corn. Guaranteed to make even the picky eaters happy!
Dessert? Heck, yeah! Got that covered, too!
How about some Perfect Frosted Easter Cookies?
It’s very spring-like to make a pie, isn’t it? Classic Lemon Meringue is another favorite on my table!
Lemon Crumb Bars are a family favorite here, for sure. Bright and sweet, these would be an easy crowd pleaser to bring and contribute.
Chocolate, you say? Make a Brownie Trifle and serve a crowd with chocolatey goodness.
There are so many more ideas, friends. Check the Recipe Index for much, much more inspiration for your springtime table.
