Amounts will vary
1 Baguette
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper
4 oz. cream cheese
2-4 oz. Blue Cheese
Local honey
Here's how...
To begin, slice a baguette into ΒΌ" slices and lay them on a baking sheet (foil-lined means less clean up!), drizzle them with olive oil, and sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper.
Bake them in a preheated 400 degree oven on the bottom shelf for 6-8 minutes or until crispy. The length of your baguette will vary and so the amount of every other ingredient will vary as well, so be willing to be flexible. I made about two dozen slices.
In the same oven, bake 4-6 slices of thick cut bacon on a wire rack placed into a rimmed baking sheet lined with foil for easier clean up, and bake until crispy -- around 15-20 minutes. Of course you can fry it up if that's easier. Dab as much grease off of the bacon with paper towel as you can and cut into little strips.
In a mixing bowl, mix together 4 oz. cream cheese with about 2-4 oz. of Gorgonzola Bleu Cheese ( to your taste preference). Add salt and pepper to taste.
Once the baguettes have cooled, schmear each with the cheese mixture, evenly distribute the bacon pieces and arrange on a serving tray. Just before serving, drizzle with honey (a good local honey is always the best choice).
